A pharmaceutical manufacturer approached BioCareSD to provide an urgent access delivery solution for a complex product. The current distribution partners were failing to meet the service requirements, which included the top 3 wholesale providers. BioCareSD needed to develop a model to meet all manufacturer requirements within the 6-hour delivery window from coast-to-coast.
The Challenge
To develop a distribution network, capable of meeting all product requirements including:
24/7/365 live BioCareSD team member to ensure seamless coordination, tracking, and delivery
Emergency nationwide 6-hour delivery window to hospitals
Strict REMS program mandates:
- Complete inventory documentation and tracking from order initiation through final delivery
- Storage site audits/qualifications
- A high-level of communication between all stakeholders (BioCareSD, manufacturer, HCP) maintained throughout the process
The Solution
BioCareSD developed a 3-step analytical process to identify a successful delivery model.
Identified locations of usage/potential usage based on historical data from manufacturer, patient registry, Centers of Excellence, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and plasmapheresis therapy as a surrogate marker.
Developed a network for 6-hour coverage of target locations by mapping a 250-mile courier range, commercial air coverage, and potential ground traffic challenges.
Created a monthly performance report to continually evaluate coverage and refine solutions to ensure continued success for optimal patient outcomes.
