Part – Time Material Handler
Job summary:
BioCareSD is seeking a talented professional that is responsible for fulfilling highly-critical specialty pharmaceutical orders. This role is vital to getting life-saving and vital therapies to patients across the country in an accurate and timely manner.
This position is responsible for the duties associated with order picking and shipment of products, including preparation of materials, maintenance of supplies and cleanliness of the work areas
Primary responsibilities:
- Fill orders, including picking products and packing shipping cartons
- Ship orders and assist with loading cartons onto trucks
- Prepare materials, make boxes, replenish frozen gel packs, restock workstations
- Count inventory and assist with maintenance of assigned locations
- Deliver quality customer service and ensure accuracy
- Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations
- Bring any compliance or employee issues to the attention of management
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Required competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Attention to detail with consistent, high-level accuracy
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Proficient at basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and simple equations
- Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Perform all activities in a safe manner
- Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check aligned with state and federal laws and regulations
Required certifications, education, and experience:
- None
Preferred certifications, education, and experience:
- High school graduate or GED
- Previous warehouse experience
- Experience with D365, SAP, or other warehouse systems, including the use of mobile technology to track and manage warehouse activities
- Forklift certification
- Must be willing to be trained on the use of additional PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) equipment as needed, including walkie rider and cherry picker

- Visual acuity to accurately read and verify expiration dates, batch and lot numbers on small bottles and packages
- Climate controlled warehouse
- Ability to work for a limited time in walk-in refrigerators and freezers
- Regular use of handheld bar code scanner and computer terminal
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
- Ability to bend, squat, stretch, kneel, reach, grasp and pinch
