The Facilities & EHS Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, documenting and maintaining the EHS, Facilities and Security programs throughout the BioCare network, including the Corporate Headquarters and two Distribution Centers. This role must have experience in both Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and facilities management within a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.

Primary responsibilities

  • Overall management of facility and EHS requirements across all BioCare locations
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs for all locations, to include HVAC, generators and equipment
  • Develop and implement facility maintenance standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Perform regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuous, efficient operation of facilities
  • Coordinates on-site work with third-party vendors and contractors in a safe and efficient manner; implement and manage a permit to work procedure
  • Lead efforts for planning site EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Lead Emergency Response Team training efforts at the site (CPR, AED, First Aid, etc.)
  • Ensure all local, state and federal environmental reporting requirements are met
  • Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations
  • Bring any compliance issues to the attention of management
  • •Perform all other duties as assigned by management

Required competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • OSHA certification
  • Contractor and service provider contracting and management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats with employees and vendors at all levels
  • Ability to collaborate with others to identify inefficiencies and process improvements
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check aligned with state and federal laws and regulations and within company and accreditation standards

Required certifications, licenses, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health, or related field desired; equivalent experience considered
  • 2-4 years EHS experience required
  • 2 – 4 years Facilities experience required

Preferred education, competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Experience in a cGMP/cGWP environment
  • Experience and understanding of LEAN principles preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing related safety role preferred
  • Certified trainer in at least one specific EHS topic desired (such as First Aid/CPR, Confined Space Rescue, or Forklift Operations Certification)

  • Physical ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
