Sr. Director of Supply Chain

Job summary:
BioCareSD is seeking an experienced leader that is responsible for managing the Materials Resource Planning (MRP) business processes, within specialty pharmaceutical products spanning hematology, immunology, ophthalmology, and oncology. This involves establishing and continuously improving upon supply and demand forecast modelling, right-sizing on-hand inventory requirements, and managing consignment processes. This role involves all direct and indirect inventory to support the business. This leader will work closely with the executive management team to identify market changes, troubleshoot all relevant issues, and implement strategies for effectively managing inventory levels and containing costs. This leader will effectively communicate with and provide regular updates to all stakeholders including customer service, warehouse, finance, contracting, sales, and the reporting/analytics teams.

Primary responsibilities:
- Optimize inventory levels to ensure customer fulfilment while driving investment requirements lower (maximizing inventory turns); lead purchasing decisions for direct and indirect spend based on forecast models and business growth objectives
- Lead a team of procurement and inventory professionals, providing coaching, teaching and mentoring to help develop the team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Establish demand planning and forecasting models; right-size inventory days on hand requirements and manufacturing inventory requirements
- Manage the materials resource planning (MRP) process through development of key performance metrics and continuous improvement methodology.
- Provide regular reporting and executive updates regarding inventory management, supply updates and product non-conformance
- Analyze daily product and supply levels and ensure inventory accuracy at all locations
- Communicate product changes, new product information, shortages, and recall information to senior management; assure new products and updated NDCs are set up properly within the ERP platform
- Conduct consignment par level reviews on a routine basis and work closely with the Director of Acute Sales to determine and manage all par level changes
- Lead cross-functional meetings (Sales, Operations, and Warehouse) focused on inventory consumption, forecasting and business risks
- Communicate contractual requirements to all stakeholders, assure contract compliance, maximize inventory incentives, and assist finance in minimizing property tax exposure footprint where applicable, without compromising service
- Deliver quality customer service to all team members, customers, and stakeholders
- Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations
- Bring any compliance issues to the attention of management
Required competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience managing supply chain operations, preference within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Possess a strong background in continuous improvement and process efficiency methodologies; proven track record of leading and implementing cross-functional projects
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams; ability to effectively lead team members through appropriate delegation and task organization
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check aligned with state and federal laws and within company and accreditation standards
Required certifications, licenses, education, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- Valid in–state driver’s license
- Seven years of supply chain and inventory management experience; at least 5 years of supervisory experience
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Power BI or similar experience
Preferred education, competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience in the Therapeutic Biological industry
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Advanced knowledge of ERP platforms, preference to SAP
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
