Credit Manager

Job summary:
Under minimal direction, this position is responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and reporting on the credit worthiness of new and existing customers. The Credit Manager will work hand in hand with the commercial sales organization, develop open and direct communication with customers to protect and mitigate the organization from credit risk. This is done while navigating a high growth, provider, and patient service orientation. Ultimately the role will minimize bad debts while solutioning paths for optimizing revenues.

Primary responsibilities:
- Oversee BioCare’s credit granting process
- Research and evaluate customer credit worthiness
- Establish direct relationships with customer’s finance, treasury functions, and appropriate leadership and/or ownership
- Create credit scoring models to predict risk
- Evaluate and approve appropriate credit limits for new customers
- Monitor payments, levels and progress of existing customers
- Evaluate and implement changes where needed in coordination with sales and leadership
- Implement, measure, monitor and report on dynamic solutions allowing customer growth while protecting BioCare’s interests
- Ensure visibility, consistency and adherence to credit levels
- Proactively look for trends and changes in customer behavior that may signal risk, developing solutions for mitigation
- Develop, renew and update BioCare credit policies
- Deliver quality customer service to all team members, customers, and stakeholders
- Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations, bringing any compliance issues to the attention of management
Required competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proven experience as a Credit Manager, Credit Analyst, or similar role
- Hands on experience with SAP or similar ERP solutions
- Solid understanding of credit modeling
- Ability to research existing public information sources as well as develop and follow non-public avenues to gather the most data possible for decision making
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with third parties, commercial functions and leadership
- Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check aligned with company, licensing, and accreditation standards
Required certifications, licenses, education, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or relevant field. Extended experience and demonstrable performance may be considered in absence of education requirements.
- Five (5) years’ experience in credit or related function(s)
Preferred education, competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience in healthcare related industries
- Familiarity with and input into performance contracts
