Senior Director of Information Technology

Typical duties:
  • Provide day to day information technology services, including system set up, troubleshooting, maintenance of systems, as well as hardware and software guidance to employees throughout all divisions of BioCare
  • Identify, evaluate and select new and proven technologies and services that result in improved competitiveness, increased productivity, enhanced customer service and/or reduced costs
  • Implement proper controls to maintain a high level of data security, integrity and system performance, recommending mitigation strategies to reduce/eliminate risks
  • Lead the development of IT short-term and long-term plans to support BioCare’s strategic objectives and mission
  • Implement leading and proven technology to support and enhance cyber security, infrastructure, applications, and collaboration tools to support business operation and growth
  • Manage projects and resource allocation to ensure business initiatives are met, and that the strategic plans are on target and within budget
  • Oversee relationships and contracts with all external system partners, including evaluation, selection, compliance and retention
  • Work closely with direct reports to recommend capital and operating budgets for the IT department
  • Recruit, motivate, develop and lead a high-quality IT team as warranted by growth
  • Participate in contract negotiations and provide final approval for the purchase, rent, lease, or license of computer systems, office systems, hardware, software or services
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible Information Technology experience, to include at least 5 years leading an IT department
  • Experience attending to foundational elements of IT management, including cost control, security, reliability, governance, and aligning technology operations with business objectives
  • Leadership of a multi-site/subsidiary structure
  • Experience working in a highly regulated business, assuring regulatory compliance, proper security controls and risk management
  • Thorough knowledge of current state-of-the-art computer concepts and strategies, including networking (MPLS and wireless mobile), equipment, development strategies and operations
  • A broad understanding of general business and management practices, computer system design techniques and controls, and computer operations procedures and techniques
  • Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse technologies
  • Experience developing and managing a complex IT budget
  • Demonstrated ability to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve productivity via proper use of technology and efficient management of IT resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats with customers, employees, and vendors at all levels
  • Strong management, team building and leadership skills with the ability to delegate, make difficult decisions, and effectively utilize and develop personnel
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as significant ability negotiating computer and software-related contracts
  • Must pass background check within company standards

Extras we are looking for:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or specialty distribution, or 3rd party logistics (3PL)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, Azure, Power BI, and ERP software, ideally D365
  • Experience leading technology integration following a merger or acquisition
