Senior Business Engagement Manager

Typical duties:

  • Develop a mutually beneficial relationship with existing customers and promote additional service offerings to increase volume and profitability
  • Work closely with the VP, 3PL Business Strategy & Services to identify and pursue business prospects, develop an understanding of their business, and present service offerings that meet their needs
  • Actively participate in the RFP process and pricing model development for new business prospects
  • Support manufacturers, cultivate longstanding partnerships and recommend third party logistics (3PL) solutions
  • Serve as a single point of contact and effectively handle any issues that arise, from simple to highly complex
  • Utilize a high touch approach to deliver service excellence to all customers, manufacturers, stakeholders, and team members
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and completion of the quarterly business review process
  • Lead the continued development and maintenance of SOC1
  • Lead process excellence by utilizing KPI's and data from appropriate measurement systems to evaluate situations and make recommendations that drive continuous improvement
  • Interact with distribution center management and all departments to ensure enterprise alignment
  • Participate in sales presentations to further enhance business growth opportunities, improve selling skills, and gain knowledge of the market and customer base
  • May supervise one or more Business Engagement Analysts and/or Business Engagement Managers
  • Increase knowledge and stay abreast of new technical applications, products, programs, and services available to customers
  • Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations
  • Bring any compliance issues to the attention of management
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of pharmaceutical third-party logistics experience
  • Four years of pharmaceutical distribution experience in a program management or client facing role
  • Valid in–state driver's license
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships and work effectively with all customers, including senior executives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to actively listen and communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Ability to lead the change management process and author SOPs
  • Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Project management experience from initiation to completion
  • Strategic problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of pricing, contracting and/or chargebacks
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to lead activity cross functionally
  • Ability to effectively manage and deescalate conflict
  • Strong aptitude to understand and follow contractual processes and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite including intermediate Excel
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Must possess integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as a lead or active participant in a team environment
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check aligned with state and federal laws and regulations

It's a plus if you also have:

  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBMs) and/or distribution finance
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience
  • Ability to lead the business development sales cycle
  • Strong negotiation skills in a complex environment
  • Intermediate to advanced large-scale integration experience
  • Advanced business acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Experience selling a complex product or service, with business development skills to bring sales to fruition
  • Working knowledge of ERP Software, ideally D365
